Hello! My name is Erika. I am so excited to be starting a blog on all things faith, marriage, pregnancy and… motherhood (which I am brand spanking new to).

This space was created with the intent to inspire, share experiences and laughs, bring people together and lift each other up as we walk through the trials and joys of life. I do not pretend to be an “expert” in any of the fore-mentioned areas, but I do have the experiences that God has graced me with so far and my hope is that in sharing them, others would learn, find encouragement and take comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone! We are all in this together!

So! A little bit about me… my most important title is Daughter of the King, I am a follower and lover of Jesus Christ and hope to emanate Him in my life, marriage and the way that I parent. I am also a wife to my loving, patient, dorky husband, Greg. AND I received a new title this year… MOM! We were blessed with a beautiful baby girl on May 15, 2017, Evelyn Grace. You could say that we are a little bit obsessed with her. ¬†; ) We also have a dog named Stevie and two cats, Bella Mittens and Professor Allaster Moody.

Some fun facts about me…I am a lover of hiking in the great outdoors, beach days ( I grew up in Traverse City, MI surrounded by lakes, so the love affair with water began young), a really good book, candles and Harry Potter (books & movies). I am a little bit of a nerd and a socially awkward butterfly. I love to laugh and surround myself with people who are just as weird as I am to keep me laughing. I absolutely love to travel and experience new places and cultures. ¬†Scotland and Italy are at the top of my list! My favorite season is fall; the smell of the autumn leaves, vibrant colors, warm donuts and cider to cut the chilling Michigan air…there is nothing better! One of the things I am most excited about as a parent is to get to watch and participate in Evelyn experiencing all of these things for the first time.

I currently work as a Cardiac Care nurse in Grand Rapids, MI. My dream though is to become a labor and delivery nurse! I absolutely loved my clinical in this field of nursing even though I was not expecting to. It surprised me how much I fell in love with the experience of watching new life be born! It is such a beautiful thing to witness and experience. When I became pregnant myself, I grew even more interested in the field and soaked up every piece of information about pregnancy, labor and birth that I possibly could! I now have a passion for helping women learn about labor and delivery, including how to go through it naturally, like I did. (Because if I can do it… so can you)!

I’m so excited to start on this journey with all of you. Thank you so much for reading!!

Much love,
